Buying Back The Past
Te Reo Mārama has been collecting various Māori related items from sites such as TradeMe over the past 2-3 years. It has been amazing to see what actually comes up for trade on these sites.
They range from 1920-30s cigarette cards to highly ornate carved cigarette boxes. Obviously there is a link with the use of tobacco and the production of paraphenalia that goes with normalising the practise of tobacco use and addiction.
