Tobacco Industry - Know the Enemy

The vector for malaria is the mosquito. The vector for tobacco related illness and premature death is the tobacco industry!

The tobacco industry is all about profit over health . All this industry wants are new lips to replace the ill and dying ones. It doesn't care who it kills.

As an RJ Reynolds industry executive infamously said, when asked by David Goerlitz (an actor who featured in RJ Reynolds advertisements) why he didn't smoke, received the following comment: "We don't smoke that shit, we just reserve the right to sell it to the young, the poor, the black, the stupid." 

This is all about corporate exploitation and abuse!

It is time to question why in the 21st Century an Industry that kills and harms so many is even allowed to operate. Imagine a car manufacturer bringing a new car to the market that would kill or harm 50% of its customers each year - the reality is that it would never be allowed. 

A youth/taiohi representative stood up at a national conference and made the following remarks to the adults present: "If I was to go outside now and killed someone I will be prosecuted for murder. Why is it that if I worked for the tobacco industry I can get away with murder?"

Through the eyes of our youth - effectively the Tobacco Industry literally gets away with murder!
